Qianai (Shenzhen Dapeng New Area Coral Conservation Volunteer Association)

Tai O Bay, the core area of coral conservation, is facing increasing threats due to increasing human activities in recent years.

Through the establishment of long-term and effective monitoring, to collect the data of human activities and natural environment in the coral growth area of Tai O Bay, to refine and corroborate the contents of the coral survey report in Dapeng Peninsula, to provide sufficient data support and promote the implementation of the policy; At the same time, it uses new technology to transmit real-time monitoring data to the public through slow live broadcast, in order to influence the attention and participation of the general public in marine conservation and protection work, and to help the establishment of the Dapeng Peninsular closed fishing area.

Qianai is rooted in the nearly 10 years of coral conservation work in Tai O Bay, with more than 3,700 volunteers from all walks of life, more than a third of whom hold international diving qualifications. In the course of many years of coral conservation work, especially in the ongoing coral survey of the Tai Peng Peninsula, we have collected a large number of materials on coral and coral reef biodiversity. And organize programmer volunteers from Internet companies to develop a system based on deep learning, which will establish picture-based coral species recognition, video-stream-based ship behavior recognition, underwater biodiversity recognition, and coral growth recognition.
